Biography

Gerald Keddy was first elected to the House of Commons in 1997 and re-elected in 2000, 2004, 2006, 2008 and 2011. He was appointed Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of International Trade in March 2008 and previously served as the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency.
Prior to his career in politics, Mr. Keddy worked as a farmer, a driller in Nova Scotia’s offshore oil industry and a Christmas tree producer and exporter. He is past president of the Christmas Tree Council of Nova Scotia.
Mr. Keddy lives in New Ross, Nova Scotia, with his wife, Judy, and their children.
