Welcome to the Canada Course for Education Agents*, developed by Global Affairs Canada and offered in collaboration with the Canadian Consortium for International Education (CCIE) and ICEF. The Canada Course supports professional development for agents specializing in Canada as a study destination.
By taking the Canada Course, agents will acquire a firm foundation in the benefits and organization of Canada’s education systems, and will gain access to resources with which to help international students study in Canada at the most appropriate institutions and in the best programs for their goals.
All education agents should be aware of Citizenship and Immigration Canada regulation on immigration consultants.
The Canada Course is intended for education agents but is open to anyone who would like to register and gain access to the comprehensive content describing education options in Canada. A fee is only applied for education agents wishing to take the examination during announced exam dates.
The Canada Course provides the education agent with a general foundation in the education systems and processes in Canada as they apply to international students; for information on the rules and processes of specific education institutions in Canada, agents will have to conduct their own research and make direct contact with institutions. The Canada Course includes a helpful list of resources at the end of each section for the agent’s personal use.
There are no qualifications or specific language requirements for the Canada Course. However, English proficiency equivalent to an IELTS score of 5.0 (or TOEFL PBT500/TOEFL iBT 61) is advisable for English as a Second Language readers.
* The Canada Course for Education Agents was developed by the Government of Canada (Global Affairs Canada) and is offered in collaboration with the Canadian Consortium for International Education (CCIE) and ICEF. Completion of this course does not constitute accreditation or authorization by provincial/territorial ministries and departments of education nor by the Government of Canada.
