The sector encompasses banks, trust and loan companies, credit unions and caisses populaires, life and health insurance companies, property and casualty insurance companies, securities dealers and exchanges, mutual fund companies and distributors, finance and leasing companies, as well as independent financial advisors, pension fund managers and independent insurance agents and brokers, among others. It includes firms and institutions that are responsible for carrying out financial transactions or facilitating financial transactions through services provided.
