Canada Concerned About Unrest in Thailand
November 26, 2013 - The Honourable Deepak Obhrai, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and for International Human Rights, today issued the following statement:
“Canada is concerned by the recent demonstrations and unrest in Bangkok, and calls for a peaceful dialogue.
“We urge all sides to respect democracy and the rule of law and to refrain from violence and damage to property.
“Canada supports peaceful efforts to resolve political disputes and encourages the Thai government and people to engage in free and democratic dialogue that will promote political stability, economic progress, the rule of law and reconciliation.”
