Minister Yelich Supports Women’s Human Rights
September 27, 2013 - New York City - The Honourable Lynne Yelich, Minister of State (Foreign Affairs and Consular), today delivered remarks at a high-level working meeting on a UN General Assembly resolution on eliminating female genital mutilations.
Canada has made the prevention of sexual violence and the promotion of women’s and girls’ rights a priority, including in fragile and conflict-affected communities, and supports projects to prevent and address violence against women and girls in the developing world.
