On April 5, 2019, a Miscellaneous Amendment Regulations was approved to amend the following general permits:
- General Export Permit No. 41 — Dual-use Goods and Technology to Certain Destinations;
- General Export Permit No. 45 — Cryptography for the Development or Production of a Product;
- General Export Permit No. 46 — Cryptography for Use by Certain Consignees and General; and
- General Import Permit No. 108 – CWC Toxic Chemicals and Precursors.
These amendments are a regulatory housekeeping measure that updates these general permits to reflect new numbering in the Export Control List. They do not change the authorities under the general permits nor do they add new controls or decontrol any items. The full text of this regulation and the related Regulatory Impact Analysis Statement were published on the Canada Gazette website on April 17, 2019 and will come into force on Friday, May 17, 2019.
