Canada-Cabo Verde relations

Bilateral relations

Canada and Cabo Verde established diplomatic relations in 1976. Relations between the two countries are good, but limited. Canada and Cabo Verde share many common values, in particular democracy and gender equality, which is reflected in our respective positions at the international level. 

In Cabo Verde, Canada is represented by the Embassy of Canada to Senegal, in Dakar. Cabo Verde is represented in Canada by the Embassy of Cabo Verde in Washington D.C.

Trade relations

In 2021, bilateral merchandise trade between Canada and Cabo Verde amounted to around $1.4 million, $1 million in exports and $412,249 in imports to Canada.
