It’s an honour and a privilege to be here and I very much look forward to furthering our excellent bilateral engagement and cooperation. Canada and Jamaica share a long and close relationship on a broad range of issues including security and defence cooperation, trade and investment links, and development. Canada and Jamaica cooperate within the Commonwealth, the United Nations, the Organization of American States and CARICOM. Our people-to-people ties are strong with a large Jamaican community in Canada and hundreds of thousands of Canadians visiting Jamaica yearly.
