Embassy of Canada in Venezuela Human Rights Award - Nomination form

The Human Rights Award, awarded annually, seeks to recognize an outstanding contribution to the advancement of human rights in Venezuela. The award will recognize the work of a group, institution, civil society organization (CSO), network, or person in Venezuela that stands out for their constant efforts in promoting respect for human rights; in the dissemination of human rights values and/or in the defense of the human rights of vulnerable people or groups. This year, the jury will pay particular attention to the nominations of groups, networks, and coalitions.

Nomination details: The award will recognize the work of a group, institution, civil society organization (CSO), network or person in Venezuela that stands out for their constant efforts in promoting respect for human rights; in the dissemination of human rights values and/or in the defense of the human rights of vulnerable people or groups who are deprived of them. The criteria that the jury will take into account are the following: the commitment of the group, person, institution, network, or non-governmental organization; the effort and leadership demonstrated by the person or group in a particular project, or the overall impact in the field of human rights; and the achievement of a specific activity that has had a considerable impact on Venezuelan society as a whole, or on the promotion or defense of human rights.

You may include a proposal letter and no more than 10 letters of support from others to support the proposal. You can also include a resume or biography of the nominee, as well as links to websites that show the work and background of the proposed person, group, or organization.
