Canada Deplores Deadly Attack on U.S. Embassy in Turkey

February 1, 2013 - Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird today issued the following statement:

“Canada strongly condemns today’s deadly suicide bombing at the U.S. embassy in Ankara.

“On behalf of all Canadians, I offer our sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of the victims of this cowardly act of violence and wish a full recovery to the injured.

“Canada remains a committed partner in the global struggle against terrorism in all its forms.”

All Canadian embassy personnel working in Ankara are safe and accounted for.
