Minister Fast to Visit Europe to Promote Two-way Benefits of Canada-European Union Trade Agreement

(No. A/97 - December 8, 2011) The Honourable Ed Fast, Minister of International Trade and Minister for the Asia-Pacific Gateway, will travel to Europe, where he will meet with political and business leaders to discuss Canada and the European Union’s shared commitment to an ambitious trade agreement.

Minister Fast will travel to Berlin from December 9 to December 11, 2011, to Düsseldorf on December 12, and to Paris on December 13 to discuss deepening the Canada-European Union trading relationship, to promote the two-way benefits of a comprehensive trade agreement with the European Union, and to highlight Canada as a world-class investment destination.

Minister Fast will then travel to Geneva to attend the Eighth World Trade Organization Ministerial Conference. At the conference, the Minister will participate in a ministerial meeting on the Agreement on Government Procurement, and will hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts from some of Canada’s key trading partners.
