CUSMA-Sugar- Containing Products Tariff Rate Quota fill rate discrepancy – Update

In relation to the filling and closure of the CUSMA-Sugar- Containing Products Tariff Rate Quota on November 2, 2022, Global Affairs Canada is continuing in its efforts to re-open the quota before the end of the year. It however is still unclear whether the TRQ will reopen before December 31, 2022 or what quantities may become available should it reopen.

We understand that this situation means that many allocation holders may not be able to fully utilize their 2022 quota allocation. For this reason, please note that the underutilization policy will not be applied when Global Affairs Canada calculates allocations for the 2023 quota year.
