Message to industry – Opening of the application period for the 2023-2024 dairy year TRQs

Global Affairs Canada has opened the application period for the 2023-2024 dairy year tariff rate quotas (TRQs) starting May 1, 2023, and with a deadline of June 15, 2023.

The current notices and all application forms can be found on the Supply-Managed TRQs website as there are no changes to existing ministerial allocation policies.

The notices should be read in conjunction with the General Information on the Administration of TRQs for Supply-Managed Products and the Key Dates and Access Quantities 2023-2024: TRQs for Supply-Managed Products.

Updates to the TRQ application process

For the most recent dairy TRQ years, Global Affairs Canada waived, on an exceptional basis, any applicable under-utilization penalties, on account of the extraordinary circumstances allocation holders faced resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Please be advised that the under-utilization policies applicable to the utilization of 2022-2023 dairy year TRQs will be applied during this allocation process.

On an exceptional basis, the requirement to provide an accountant's letter for the upcoming TRQ application period is waived.
