Message to industry – Changes to the TRQ transfer process

This message is to inform you that Global Affairs Canada has implemented changes to the supply-managed tariff rate quota (TRQ) transfer process.

The new process requires the transfer request form to be signed by both the transferring company and the receiving company. These changes have been implemented to ensure both parties clearly understand and agree to the terms and conditions of the transfer. The transfer request form has been updated accordingly and now contains the newly updated Terms and Conditions, Disclaimer, Transferring company’s Declaration and Receiving company’s Attestation sections.

The updated TRQ Transfer Request form can be found in the Transfers and Supplemental Requests section of the supply-managed trade controls web pages. Please note that it must be downloaded to your computer, as it does not work in a browser. To download, right-click on the link and select “Save link as…”. Once downloaded, the form can be opened with Adobe Acrobat Reader, available as a free download from the Adobe website.

The form, completed in full and signed by both the transferring company and the receiving company, must be submitted to the appropriate commodity contact email address.

The new TRQ transfer process is effective as of August 1, 2024.

Should you have any comments or questions about these changes, please contact us at tpc@international.gc.ca.
