WTO: Cheeses of All Types TRQ – Serial No. 998

This Notice replaces Notice to Importers No. 958 dated October 1, 2019 and sets out the policies and practices pertaining to the administration of Canada’s tariff rate quota (TRQ) for cheeses of all types under the World Trade Organization (WTO).

This Notice is provided pursuant to the authority of the Export and Import Permits Act (EIPA) and its corresponding regulations, and remains in effect until further notice.

1. Definitions

Cheese means a product that is included in Items 141to 157 of the Import Control List (ICL), namely cheese falling under tariff item 04.06 in the list of tariff provisions set out in the Schedule to the Customs Tariff.

Non-EU sources means import sources other than Member States of the EU.

Member States of the EU: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.
