Opportunity for non-governmental entities to submit requests to provide written views in the Canada – Dairy Tariff Rate Quota (TRQ) Allocation Measures dispute

This notice is in accordance with the Dispute Settlement Rules of Procedure of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).

On March 9, 2023, a panel in the Canada – Dairy Tariff Rate Quota (TRQ) Allocation Measures dispute under the CPTPP was composed of the following individuals:

• Jennifer Hillman, Chair
• Petros Mavroidis
• Colleen Swords

Non-governmental entities located in Canada or New Zealand now have an opportunity to submit requests to provide written views in this dispute.

Entities considering making a request are encouraged to review the Rules of Procedure, particularly Rules 62 to 69 and Appendix 4. The panel may grant a request to submit written views, provided that the request complies with Rules 63, 64 and Appendix 4.

All requests to submit views will be made publicly available.

The deadline for non-governmental entities to submit requests to provide written views in the Canada – Dairy Tariff Rate Quota (TRQ) Allocation Measures dispute is 5 May 2023. If the panel accepts the request by a non-government entity, the panel will set a deadline for submission to provide written views that will be no later than 24 May 2023. Requests from non-governmental entities located in Canada or New Zealand must be sent to the Canadian CPTPP Designated Office via email Disputes-Differends@international.gc.ca.
