Foreign trade remedy investigations
When Canadian exports are subject to trade remedy investigations in foreign jurisdictions, the Government of Canada intervenes in defence of Canadian interests. Depending on the investigation, Canada may file briefs and appear before foreign investigating authorities. If necessary, Canada can also challenge decisions by investigating authorities in foreign courts, before Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA) binational panels, or at the World Trade Organization (WTO).
