Official development assistance data — OECD-DAC

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development's (OECD)’s Development Assistance Committee (DAC) promotes international dialogue and study on development. It also sets standards for reporting and monitoring aid.

The OECD-DAC publishes the data collected from all donors in USD. The data contains information on disbursements and budgets for initiatives that have been approved during the preceding calendar year.

In Canada, Global Affairs Canada coordinates this exercise on behalf of all levels of governments (federal, provincial and municipal).

The DAC releases the data in two phases:

  1. preliminary data in mid-April
  2. final and detailed project-level data at the end of the year

The DAC’s published data is available through the OECD Data Explorer.

For more information on how Canada defines its international assistance, please refer to the Glossary of International Assistance Terms.
