Objectives
Global Affairs Canada will launch a call to support the delivery of basic needs services to Afghans especially women and girls in one or more of the following three programming areas:
- Quality gender-responsive health services for the most marginalized
- Needs-based skills training, particularly for women and girls, in subjects such as:
- essential literacy and numeracy
- computer literacy
- life skills
- business skills
- other relevant technical and vocational skill areas
- Services that protect and advance the rights and empowerment of women and girls, with a focus on ethnic and religious minorities, including support to women-led groups
This is a two-step process:
- We will invite eligible organizations to submit concept notes. They should describe how their projects will address one or more of these development challenges
- Selected applicants will be invited to submit a full application package
Eligibility criteria
Preference will be given to:
- non-governmental organizations with a demonstrated ability to operate in the current Afghan context
- Canadian organizations or partnerships involving Canadian organizations
- proposals which leverage other sources of funding
We will not prioritize one programming area over others. We will evaluate each submission based on the responsiveness and quality of the concept, regardless of whether one or more programming areas are selected.
