Objectives: Improve the health status of women, men, girls and boys in Benin, particularly in its northern departments. This DIMI initiative invited applicants to submit concept notes for undertaking activities related to the health sector that target the strengthening of health systems and capacity building for human resources in Benin
Eligibility (by invitation only)
- Organizations have current and/or recent health programming experience in Benin.
- Organizations have significant experience in managing development projects focused on improving access to quality primary health services and sexual and reproductive health services in the West Africa sub-region and/or the Central Africa sub-region.
- Oorganizations are GAC partners with good knowledge of the department’s priorities and expectations for project management, results-based management and GAC compliance rules.
- Organizations have operational experience managing programs that have improved access to quality primary health services and sexual and reproductive health services.
- Organizations have proven financial management capacity in the health sector for a minimum value of $10 million.
- Organizations have demonstrated technical management capacities in:
- strengthening health sector governance (for example, providing technical assistance to Benin’s Ministry of Health in planning, coordination and human resources management)
- strengthening human resources in health through training and capacity building
- improving the quality and delivery of primary health care services
- improving gender and environmental issues related to the health sector
