Canada and Multilateral Organisation Performance Assessment Network
The Multilateral Organisation Performance Assessment Network (MOPAN) is a network of donor countries with a common interest in assessing the organizational effectiveness of the major multilateral organizations they fund. MOPAN was established in 2002 in response to international forums on aid effectiveness and calls for greater coordination between donors.
As a founding member, Canada is one of 18 MOPAN donor countries. The MOPAN secretariat is housed at the OECD headquarters in Paris.
MOPAN 3.0: A Reshaped Assessment Approach
MOPAN 3.0 is the current methodological and operational approach used by the MOPAN network to assess multilateral and global organizations. The approach was finalised and first implemented in 2015.
Under MOPAN 3.0, the network is assessing more organizations than previously, collecting data from more partner countries, and widening the range of organizations assessed.
