Permanent Mission of Canada to the United Nations Environment Programme and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme in Nairobi
The Permanent Mission of Canada to the United Nations Offices and Programmes in Nairobi, including specifically to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) represents Canada’s multilateral interests through diplomatic engagement at the UN in Nairobi, Kenya. Nairobi is the only United Nations headquarters duty station in the global south, and plays host to a multitude of United Nations agencies, funds, and programmes.
The Permanent Mission of Canada to the United Nations Offices and Programmes in Nairobi is located within the High Commission of Canada to Kenya and is Canada’s smallest multilateral mission. The mission is comprised of staff from Global Affairs Canada who represent the interests of Environment and Climate Change Canada – the lead department on environmental matters – as well as those of their own department.
