With the implementation of the CHFTA on October 1, 2014, imports from Honduras of apparel, textiles, and made-up goods, as defined below, are eligible for CHFTA tariff rate reductions up to specified Tariff Preference Levels (TPL). TPLs provide access to the CHFTA rates of duty to a certain level for goods which do not meet the rules of origin.
Imports from Honduras
For apparel, textiles, and made-up goods imported from Honduras which are eligible for CHFTA preferential tariff treatment, the import permit will indicate in the "other terms and conditions" block the equivalent square meter quantity eligible for TPL. Should the TPL levels be reached, the import permit will indicate "O" for the quantity eligible for TPL.
The CHFTA duty rate will be levied when the import permit is presented to Canada Border Services Agency officials at the port of entry.
