Contract type: One-year contract as an independent contractor (with opportunities for renewal) April 2024 to March 2025 (year 1) and Optional year (from April 2025 to March 2026). Contractor will be paid in PKR. The Contractor will be paid firm hourly rates for work performed in accordance with the Contract. Applicable Taxes are included.

Background
The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) is a unique Fund to support projects that are designed and implemented by small, local civil-society organizations. These organizations understand local needs and priorities and are often best placed to respond to them. This increases the overall impact of projects and strengthens engagement in a variety of areas, such as democratic governance, gender quality, LGBTQI+ and human rights advocacy. Projects may also be related to the war effort, including promotion and provision of mental health services, advancing Women, Peace and Security, the return of children, and/or support to human rights defenders.
Summary of duties
The CFLI Coordinator is critical to the successful delivery of this high-impact Fund. The Coordinator supports the effective implementation of all elements of the CFLI project cycle, including project identification, project monitoring, financial oversight, and reporting, in accordance with CFLI regulations. The Coordinator will also support communications and social media related to the projects and coordinate with Fund recipients to support monitoring visits. This contractor position is an opportunity to contribute to Canada’s priorities in Pakistan in issues that are important to the prosperity and well-being of local communities.
Area of selection
This contractor position is open to any candidates who have the right to reside and work in Pakistan, who meet all the essential requirements stated and whose applications are received by the closing date.

Essential qualifications
Candidates must clearly demonstrate when applying to the position how they meet
each of these essential qualifications.
Education
- Candidates will be required to provide proof of the completion of their education.
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
Language
- Advanced level in English or French (oral and written)
- Advanced level in Urdu
Experience
- Minimum 3 year’s experience working in project management.
- Experience in liaising and working with clients (internal or external), partners or stakeholders
Rated requirements
The rated requirements are part of the essential qualifications and relate to knowledge, abilities and competencies. Methods of assessment for rated requirements may include, but are not limited to, a written examination and an oral interview.
Knowledge
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Knowledge on Canadian interests and priorities in Pakistan
- Knowledge of local needs, and local non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and government processes related to NGOs registration and operations

Asset qualifications
Preference may be given to candidates who meet the asset qualifications. Where applicable, candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet any asset qualifications.
- Experience working with a diplomatic mission or international organization
Conditions of contracting
Conditions of employment must be met or complied with before being appointed to a particular position, and are to be maintained throughout the employment while being the incumbent of this position.
- Valid work authorization in Pakistan
- Ability to obtain and hold a valid work authorization covering the entire contract period.
- Security screening
- Obtain and maintain a Reliability Status (security level) which includes a criminal and credit background check from the Government of Canada covering the entire contract period.

Please note that the High Commission of Canada does not reimburse any travel costs to and from interviews/exams nor does it reimburse any relocation costs. Before a consultancy contract offer can be made, the successful candidate must provide a local residence address as proof of residence in Pakistan.
