The input gathered through this consultation will inform the Government of Canada of industry stakeholder interests regarding the existing administration policy, and possible changes that Global Affairs Canada is considering as a result of the consistent decrease in usage of the origin quota since its creation in 2017. Any changes to the administration policy of the origin quota for vehicles exported to the EU under the CETA will take effect for the quota year beginning January 1, 2025.
