Purpose of consultation
- The Government of Canada is sought stakeholder views on additional measures to strengthen Canada’s import ban on all goods mined, manufactured, or produced, wholly or in part, by forced labour. The import ban, as part of commitments made by Canada under the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA), was implemented in July 2020.

- Anticipated negative effects on Canadian workers and the Canadian industry by potential new measures to strengthen the ban
The information collected through this consultation will inform whole-of-government approaches and measures to advance Canada’s economic security interests.
