Regulations Amending the Special Economic Measures (People’s Republic of China) Regulations

Whereas the Governor in Council is of the opinion that gross and systematic human rights violations have been committed in the People’s Republic of China;

Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, makes the annexed Regulations Amending the Special Economic Measures (People’s Republic of China) Regulations under paragraph 4(1)(a)^a and subsections 4(1.1)^b, (2)^c and (3) of the Special Economic Measures Act^d.

Amendment

1 Part 1 of the schedule to the Regulations Amending the Special Economic Measures (People’s Republic of China) Regulations¹ is amended by adding the following in numerical order:

5. CHEN Quanguo (born in November 1955)
6. TUNIYAZ Erkin (born in January 1961)
7. ZAKIR Shohrat (born in August 1953)
8. PENG Jiarui (born in April 1961)
9. WU Yingjie (born in December 1956)
10. ZHANG Hongbo (born in March 1965)
11. HUO Liujun (born in 1952)
12. YOU Quan (born on January 23, 1954)

Application Before Publication

Coming into Force

3 These Regulations come into force on the day on which they are registered.
